NITTTR, Kolkata started to offer M.Tech Courses from 2002-03 session. To start with, The Department of Mechanical Engineering has offered first M.Tech. Programme in "Manufacturing Technology". This programme is approved by AICTE and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Kolkata and earned a very good response from both Academics and Industry.

From the present academic year 2005-06, two more M.Tech courses will commence as indicated below:

1. Multimedia and Software Systems.
2. Mechatronics Engineering.

Both the courses are approved by AICTE and affiliated to WBUT.
